[. . . ] On multi-bladed machines, take care as rotating one blade can cause other blades to rotate. Do not operate the engine in a confined space where dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can collect. Before attempting to start the engine, disengage all blade attachment clutches and shift into neutral. To guard against overturning; - do not stop or start suddenly when going up or downhill; - engage clutch slowly, always keep machine in gear, especially when traveling downhill; - machine speeds should be kept low on slopes and during tight turns; - stay alert for humps and hollows and other hidden hazards; - never mow across the face of the slope, unless the lawnmower is designed for this purpose. Mutter Bag of parts (contents not shown full size) · Remove box of parts · NOTE: If battery is put into service after month and year indicated on label, charge battery for minimum of one hour at 6-10 amps. WARNING: Before installing battery remove metal bracelets, wrist watch bands, rings, etc. WARNING: Positive terminal must be connected first to prevent sparks from accidental grounding. WARNING: Keep battery box door closed when not used to inspect terminals. Make sure that the front wheels point straight ahead and that the steering wheel bar points across the tractor. Parking brake lever: Set parking brake lever when leaving tractor by pushing clutch/brake pedal completely down. WARNING: Be sure you understand all the controls before going any further. WARNING: Know how to stop your tractor before attempting to operate it. Push clutch/brake pedal all the way down to 'brake' position. While still pushing down the clutch/brake pedal, move motion control lever to 'neutral' position. To tow or move the tractor without the aid of the engine, the freewheel control knob must be pulled out and locked in position with the needle spring. Check engine oil level This engine has been shipped with summer grade oil. CAUTION: Do not run starter continuously for more than fifteen seconds per minute. To ensure proper operation and performance, it is recommended that the transmission be purged before operating tractor for the first time. This procedure will remove any trapped air inside the transmission which may have developed during shipping of your tractor. Move motion control lever to full forward position and hold for five (5) seconds. Drive tractor forward for approximately five feet then backwards for five feet. The motion control lever can be moved steplessly between S and F to ensure the required speed. NOTE: Always operate engine at full engine rpm when cutting grass to assure better performance and discharge of material. Observe height of cut and readjust as needed, with mower height adjustment knob. Use runner on right side as a guide, blade cuts one inch outside the runner. [. . . ] NOTE: Periodic maintenance should be performed on a regular basis in order to keep your tractor in good running condition. WARNING: Disconnect spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting before attempting any repair, inspection, or maintenance. Check to see all bolts, nuts, and cotter pins are in place and secure. Keep tractor free of dirt and chaff to prevent engine damage or overheating. [. . . ]
